Torch design to blaze new path

Approximately 10 proposals will come through the first round of evaluation and three through the second round. The final three designs will then be presented to BOCOG executive board for a final decision.
"The final design of the torch will be announced to the public in the middle of 2006 and the designers of the top three candidates will be each awarded 50,000 yuan ((US$6,165)."
As for the torch relay route in 2008, Zhang said that BOCOG has finished the plan with the IOC, but some final work still needs to be done.
"The complete torch relay route will be announced at the beginning of 2007," Zhang said.
